The Originator has recently been introduced to our Colne and Ewood dental practices.

What is The Originator?
The Originator is a clear aligner system that is removable and aesthetically pleasing. They are custom fir to straighten teeth gradually, in stages, one aligner at a time. The aligners are made from plastic, are comfortable to wear and are virtually invisible.
How does it work?
The clear aligner works by applying constant pressure that steadily moves the teeth from where they are to where they should be. Each aligner will reposition the teeth a little further each time. The Originator is only designed to treat mild cases; therefore a consult is always necessary to check suitability. The Originator is designed to be worn at all times, except for when brushing your teeth and eating.
How long does it take?
The clear aligner should be worn at all times for best results, removing it only to eat, brush or floss. In a typical case, a patient would wear the same aligner two or four weeks before moving onto the next one in the series. Total treatment times do vary, depending on the type of alignment required and how well the wearing schedule is followed.
How much will it cost and what's involved?
For one arch (your upper teeth or lower teeth) the price for The Originator is £1024.00. The price for both arches is £1838.00. A consultation would be required to check for suitability of the appliance which would be subject to an orthodontic consult fee of £40.00.
Once suitability has been established, you will have some impressions taken of your teeth. These then get sent off to a laboratory where the clear aligners are custom produced. Usually approx. 4 weeks after the initial impressions are taken, your first clear aligner will be ready to fit. Your dentist will then advise you of a wearing schedule and you will be reviewed to ensure treatment is going as planned.
